Stud Beef Cattle
Our competition begins on the Friday night prior to Saturday’s Show with the Circular Head Show’s Junior Cattle Handlers competition. The winner then goes on to represent Circular Head Show on the Saturday afternoon in the Tasmanian State Junior Handlers championship. Handlers from the following shows; Chudleigh, Wynyard, Burnie, Launceston, Hobart, Ulverstone, Sheffield Handlers, Westbury, Scottsdale, Deloraine and Devonport also converge on the Stanley Recreation ground for the State final. Handlers who make the State Final usually lead heifers from different registered breed Societies. The winner goes on to represent Tasmania in the National Finals that are held at a Royal Show nominated within Australia or New Zealand.
Thank you to our ‘Gold’ sponsors for their contributions in this section, including ‘St Luke’s Health’, ‘WFI Insurance’ and ‘Rex James Stockfeed’.
Our judges are local and interstate; the interstate judge, judges in one breed ring, combining with the local judge to judge our Interbreed competition. The interstate judge then goes on to judge the State Handlers Final after a short lunch break, having decided a winner in time for them to lead the Grand Parade which is held at 3pm.
