Attractions for the 2019, 111th Show include:
Rino Morea, musician and singer, sponsored by Woolnorth Wind Farms
Displays – Patrons can visit the ‘North West Bird Club’ and ‘Bonsai Society’, the ‘Veteran Car Club’ and the ‘Historical Machinery Club’.
There will be free face painting and the younger children will love appearances by various mascots entertaining and roving all day. Mascots will include PJ Mask; Paw Patrol; Elsa, Ana and Olaf; Batman and Spiderman; LOL Dolls provided by Launceston Mascots and Parties.
Gomez and Friends, an interactive bird display, will be back again to meet and interact with patrons all day or just sit and watch a “Living Statue”.
Jye Crosswell, the Discovery Ranger from Parks and Wildlife, will have an informative display while Kevin Hyland from ‘The Lobster Haven’ will have one or two friends to inform the patrons about.
‘The Grey Nomads’ – singer/entertainer, Edwin, will again return raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis.
The feature event of the day – Perry’s Quality Meats – ‘Graze the Region’ – where Josh showcases the local produce and producers all day from 10.30 until 4pm. Produce includes TOP Fish octopus, Hursey Seafoods scallops, Tarkine Fresh oysters, Petuna salmon, Greenham’s beef, Robbins Island wagyu, Nichols chicken, Blue Hills honey and much more.
The Collectors’ Corner has displays to interest all ages; displays vary every year.
The Animal Nursery organised by the Radford family is always very popular with all ages. Ritchie and his working bullocks are always a crowd pleaser. Miniature goats, Santa Gertrudis and Highland cattle will also feature along with the cattle competitions that commence Friday evening with the Young Paraders and Judges competition. The competition for Trade, Stud Beef and Dairy cattle continues throughout Saturday – see Cattle schedule for times.
With fully variable speeds to suit children to full-on cowboys, and a large padded safety area around the bull, you’ll have nothing but fun.
The Miss Showgirl and Boy competition will follow the Opening at 12 noon. See separate page under ‘Competitions’
Grand Parade – The Parade will once again commence at 3pm, showcasing the best of the livestock exhibited throughout the Show.
Equestrian Competition – The competition can be viewed around the main arena, running across the day.
Exhibition Hall Competition including Cut Flowers, Floral Art, Home produce, Preserves, Vegetables, Craft, Photography, Lego and School Entries will be on display in the new building completed this year. New display cabinets have been purchased to showcase the exhibits which are always the highlight of the day.
Food Stalls – Scattered around the ground.
Sideshow Alley – Providing entertainment in the form of showbags, games and rides.
Free Face Painting and Display or Remote Control Cars – children will even be able to have a go.
